When someone asks me what's the best all-around bar in DC, this is my answer.

There are four floors. The first floor has two bars and live music every night. The second floor has a bar and a dance floor with a DJ, typically playing loud rap music and full of people shaking some ass. The third floor is a quiet side room with a bar (where you go if you did well on the second floor). The fourth floor is an "outdoor" floor (it has screen windows) where you can smoke at the bar like its 1970.

Drinks are cheap, cheap enough to make the cover charge (typically $10 cash Thursday-Saturday) worth it. $6 for a beer, $6 for a shot (and the shots are always doubles).

The music is good. The happy hour is stellar. The people are attractive. And you can smoke.
